The First Explorers are organized into three groups:
Minnows (4-year-olds,) Sharks (5-year-olds,) and Hawks (6- and 7-year-olds).
The First Explorers program is a blend of traditional on-campus camp activities and off-site excursions and adventures.
On-campus activities include rock climbing and ropes course, sports, water games, arts and crafts, daily story time, and much more. Groups also travel by van to a wide variety of island locations for exciting adventures. Some favorites include snake and salamander catching at Squam Farm, fort building at the State and Bamboo Forests, games at Lily Pond and Quaise, and harbor beach days (For the Sharks and Hawks only.)
Groups are limited to between 10 and 12 campers, with two or more outstanding leaders per group.
