ICE CLIMBING
White Mountains
New Hampshire
January
14-17, 2000
Grades
10-11-12
We
got ‘Vertical on Ice’ and learned how to climb on frozen H2O
while
challenging ourselves
in New England’s harshest environment -
the
White Mountains of New Hampshire.
The
team ice-climbed with professional guides from Eastern Mountain Sports on
day one and winter backpacked
on snowshoes the second day.
We
bunked out in rustic rooms at the Pinkham Notch Lodge of the Appalachian
Mountain Club where we enjoyed warmth, ‘all you can eat’ meals and a
great mountain
atmosphere. |
